Capital increase

Issue of new shares through which a company raises additional equity.

A capital increase can fund growth, acquisitions or balance-sheet strengthening. It can also dilute existing owners when they do not participate or when new capital earns too little. Subscription rights, issue price, purpose and time pressure are therefore key review points.
